Terrazzo- another popular direction in the creation of architectural concrete. This technique was invented in the 15th century by Venetian builders who couldn't afford to use solid marble, so they mixed marble chips with clay and then polished it to create a decorative, hard-wearing surface.

In this two-day course, you will learn about the composition of concrete that is best suited for terrazzo technique, how to work with it when creating interior objects, countertops and sinks, about equipment and tools that provide convenience and consistent quality of polished terrazzo concrete, about the possibilities of design, how concrete products are brought to their final form and how to protect and maximize their service life.

Project:

The practical part includes a demonstration of the process of making a vase and a coffee table from terrazzo concrete using available raw materials.

At the master class you will learn:

• about materials, tools, equipment and requirements for the production facility
• about the differences and features of inert materials, the rules for their selection
• on the criteria for selecting raw materials for projects
• about existing types of equipment and tools for texture exposure, ways to improve rheological characteristics
• on the conditions for the use, storage and operation of materials with maximum efficiency
• about the features of the composition of the mixture, methods of filling and compaction
• about the features of working with forms 
• about methods of post-processing products and options for protection

At the master class you will learn:

• to produce attractive and durable outdoor furniture using the "terrazzo" technique
• calculate the cost of production
• use the advantages of products in marketing promotion and positioning in the market
• work with various fillers
